The Concept
VMTC was formed to provide veterans and active duty military transitioning to civilian life a career oriented pathway to a rewarding and exciting career with the potential to work in motorsport. The primary focus of the school is the ASE Certification training for the Maintenance and Light Repair level, giving students the basics for working as a mechanic and/or crew. The program leverages relationships with other veteran programs, racing teams, motorsport tracks/centers, and OEM businesses to secure internships and apprenticeships to add real-world experience.
Online
Complete self paced courses on line to meet your needs and to prepare for the in-person portions of training.
The online platform contains all the classroom instruction required for our ASE Certification courses, driver education, team management, and more.
The platform allows for easy completion of classroom materials, on your schedule, and at your own pace.
in person
VMTC's flagship facility, operated in partnership with Josh White Racing (JWR) in West Virginia's Kanawha Valley, delivers hands-on mechanic and race car fabrication training in small, focused classes.
With a student-to-teacher ratio capped at 10:1 (minimum 3 students per class), instructors can give every student the individualized attention that hands-on trades training demands.
VMTC is exploring expansion of this model, including a potential second facility in western New York and continued program growth in Virginia, as partnerships and planning progress.

Graduate Tool Kit
Every VMTC graduate of the ASE Maintenance and Light Repair program who completes the program in under one year leaves with more than a certificate. Each student meeting this requirement receives a starter tool kit built around the same tools they trained on throughout the program. No starting a career empty-handed. Graduates report to their first day of work ready to turn a wrench.
